Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

Shirdi Sai - What went wrong

I know that, the final verdict on the movie is not out yet. Most of the reviewers are even scared to talk bad about the movie, thinking it as some kind of blasphemy. But from what I heard from all the people who have seen the movie, surely they were disappointed especially by two things. Top most being the irritating comedy scenes of the dog which can be removed even after the release. Second, music of Keeravani. No song in the movie can be termed as a classic. Which makes us believe Keeravani was riding high on the success of the tunes by Ramadasu and Annamayya for their own songs and his own compositions look pale in comparison to those earlier movies. He sang 6 out of 14 songs, one song by SPB, one by Sonu Nigam , one by Karthik and rest all by upcoming or junior singers.  I have read somewhere it is the result of some business model he came up with wherein the producers don't pay him but sell the audio rights to his Audio company "Vel records". Then he pays the singers from his pocket and keeps rest of the profits from audio sales to himself. I did not want to believe it but I am convinced now. Better compositions in first place, few more songs by SPB, at least one or two songs by Yesudas and only one song by him would have made this a better album. KRR's graph is constantly declining from Annamayya to Sri Ramadasu to Shirdi Sai. It's high time he retires. One more time Nag has misjudged the content of the movie and got carried away by the yes-mans surrounding him. Rajanna was one and now this movie. Nag, if he wants to continue for some more time to come, have to wake up the critic in him than just going with the yes-mans. At this stage any more wrong steps can end his career and with no fitting successor in place, that would be end of Akkinenis.
