Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Yuddham Sharanam - Late Review

I was literally scared to watch this movie owing to the reviews and so the delay in watching. Now that I have watched this movie I have realized the gross injustice done to this movie by the reviews.

Yuddham Sharanam is a perfectly written crime thriller, the ones we go looking for in Tamil cinema. Screenplay is a major highlight. The way the movie is narrated is the life of the movie which is basically a revenge drama on paper. The direction is spot on. So many simple emotions and nuances conveyed so brilliantly. In the scene where Chay recalls the flashback to understand what his parents were going through is very well done. Background score by Vivek Sagar is also good. Songs are very melodious and touching when needed. Camera work is one of the best in Telugu movies. Production values are apt too.

All the actors Chay, Srikanth, Murali Sharma, Revathi, Rao Ramesh, Lavanya, Priyadarshi everyone did very good. Srikanth did one of his career bests.

If you are a crime thriller lover, this is a must watch. I could go the lengths of calling this one of the finest crime thrillers from Telugu movie, a movie I would suggest to my non-Telugu friends.
