Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Taxiwala - Review

During the shoot of the Pelli Choopulu and before listening to Arjun Reddy Taxiwala might have sounded like an interesting script. But post Arjun Reddy Vijay became an over night star and he carries a huge baggage of expectations from his fans and regular audience. NOTA tried to bring down those expectations but unfortunately Taxiwala stills falls short.

The concept of Astral projection is very fascinating and could have been used in much better way. Adding that a plot twist to the typical horror comedy kind of movie is a gross injustice to that concept. Let's not even compare it Hollywood movies Insidious chapters but we have our very own Telugu TV serial from 90s that used this concept well. This was the famous Yamuna starrer Anveshitha. Where as in Taxiwala it is just used as a prop for plot twist.

If you leave out that point, Taxiwala is a run of the mill Telugu horror comedy which few comedy scenes working out here and there. Vijay is himself and the character does not give him much scope for performance. The new Telugu girl on the block Priyanka is okay but does not get much role. Rest of the cast do okay.

Movie starts off okay and totally loses its momentum in second half. Climax twist borders on laughable stuff. Overall, not the Vijay movie we were waiting to watch.

    First of all it's not a horror movie to be get cleared. It's a sci-fi comedy revolving around a car due to astral projection. Vijay's role is not upto the mark as we expected but yes it can surely be one time watchable. Where as the comedy scenes will make out a laugh out of your body for sure. First half revolves around the sci-fi car and the Vijay's incidents that takes place due to that car. Second half slows down with some emotional entism. Priyanka the newcomer didn't get the more on-screen time where as Malavika Nair was quite gud with her role. Overall it is one time watchable movie if your want to hangout with your friends or lovers.

    Disgusting review. I saw the movie and it's too good. It has all the elements what a normal audience expect from a movie. Please don't try to pull down these kind of movies. It's a very good story with good screenplay and have all the elements in required amounts. Perfect weekend entertainer and please go and watch in theatre. Don't think I am a crew of the movie, I am just one of the normal audience. I can give 4 out of 5
