Kaithi has come, became a blockbuster hit and now is on streaming. But this movie is not going to go away easily. It will become a cult classic in some time and will stay alive forever in the annals of Indian Cinema. This is easily the best Indian action movie I have ever seen.
Kaithi is a very typical commercial mass hero movie but with a small twist that in this movie, the story is the hero. When in the beginning, the story is introduced through the setup of the movie, you whistle for that because you immediately know that this is gonna work. Then the intro of Dilli, I mean the real Dilli is another clap worthy moment. If only I had watched this movie in theater, I would have stood up on the chair and whistled out loud or at least shouted out for the commissioner office twist. Besides the action, the emotion is also very well carried with the help of kid's character which was also very intelligently scripted. All the plot points in the movie are very well thought through and very neatly executed to help movie become the unforgettable experience.
Karthi is a treat in the role. He is just lucky to have gotten this movie and this role and we are lucky to have had such an actor and that too with so much knack to pick such a script. The mafia gang people are all good. The lorry owner character is also placed very well. The fights in the movie are perfect and just. They are not over done for the heck of it. My biggest love in the movie is the screenplay. There are Edge of the seat thrillers and then there is Kaithi which is edge of the seat on your toes nail biting breathless screenplay. You look for the breathers in the movie and thankfully the director placed them here and there for the audience. Lokesh Kanagaraj has indeed arrived with Kaithi after a decent debut with Maanagaram.
From the trailers I felt this would be a movie inspired from Assault on Precinct 13. But that was just the climax and oh yeah the climax. Phew....that was pure satisfaction. No amount of adjectives can describe the feeling I got while watching the climax. It was like how Karthi would have felt eating that biryani. I was also slapping my thighs in ecstasy watching that climax. It is futile even trying to explain. One has to watch the movie to experience it.
I have been watching Indian movies since I was 5 or so and I can confidently say that this is the best Indian action movie I have seen till date. A Must Must Watch.
