Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Frozen II - Review

How do one try to better their best ever? That is what champions are made of. In that aspect Disney emerges a total champion with Frozen II, a follow up to their most successful six year old yet still relevant animation movie. It was not an easy task and off late the franchises just hype the sequels and make money. In case of Frozen II, Disney did not take the easy way out. They put their heart into this.

Frozen II is everything you loved about Frozen with more fun, more humor, more emotions and much much more story. Frozen II does not shy away from milking the sister's bonding which did wonders in the first part. Watching Elsa and Anna bond together and become the inseparable sisters they have become towards the very end of first part is so heartwarming. The presence of Olaf is a delight too. Swen and Kristoff are alright.

If I have to say it in today's franchise world's jargon, Frozen II is both Elsa's Origins story and Rise of Anna. Now that is a pretty solid script and you all will be glad that Disney took their sweet time in coming up with the second part and it's totally worth the watch. I do not want to reveal any spoilers here but the movie offers lot more than what we have been so cautiously shown in the trailer. It ties up so many story points well together.

My only problem with the movie is the music. Unlike Let it go or For the first time or Do you wanna build a snowman, none of the songs stand out in this and will not leave much of an impression. Or may be I am too early to come to that conclusion but as of now I did not fall for any of the songs yet.

Overall, Frozen II is must watch for all that loved Frozen or heard of Frozen. For others, go back to the cocoon after you are done with this review.
