Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Tum Bin 2

Tum Bin was a very different movie. It was not a rage when it released but it gained a loyal fan base gradually. It is a very slow movie but it was a beautiful slow movie. It was so beautiful both musically and visually that the ones who admired it did not mind the slow pace. So making Tum Bin 2 was a bit tricky because getting that right balance between pace and beauty second time over is not an easy task. But let me just straight away reveal that this sequel failed in what its predecessor achieved.

Movie starts off pretty well in an all familiar terrain- Foreign locales, nice people, cold weather, snow, wide shots of picturesque locations, beautiful lead actors and almost similar looking story line. The songs again are a major plus. They make the proceedings bearable in second half. Both Priyanshu and Sandali had an inimitable charm about them in Tum Bin which even they could not recreate in their other movies. That is the major drawback for Tum Bin 2. The lead actors Neha, Aditya and Aashim are good but could not recreate the same magic. Neha was a surprise. Her acting was a bit inconsistent but whenever she got it right, it was a treat to watch.

The main culprit in this is the second half. It drags relentlessly and to make it even worse, there is nothing beautiful about the proceedings. You get what the director wants to convey but the director keeps going on and on for 30 more minutes conveying the same point. The movie climax looks straight out of Casablanca with a twist, may be an inspiration.

Overall, Tum Bin 2 suffers from lack of beauty in narration when compared to the first part even though it starts off promising and has a very good support of beautiful songs.
