Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

What to expect when you are expecting - Review

One of the first things to do when expecting, no not watching this movie, but stepping back and taking a deep breath before you get on with the ride of the life especially for women. Same way before expecting anything from this movie, step back and read the title and that’s what exactly you get from it. What all to expect. It’s like all the numerous articles, videos, flyers about pregnancy, what can go wrong, how to be careful, how not to get fooled by extra glowing pregnant models, how men should deal with kids after birth etc and much more. Surprisingly, this movie covers a lot of stuff in its limitations including the bad things. What takes the beating in the setup is the screenplay. Of course there are 5 or 6 threads. Switching among the threads and showing various possibilities at each stage will definitely kind of wear you off. Add to that a teen love story that starts off with pregnancy and goes nowhere and a adoption story with not enough meat to stretch till the end.  But there is something for all the expecting parents, except it depends on how much you are ready to take. Before going over the best performance let me tell you this movie has Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Chris Rock, Dennis Quaid etc But the best performer was Elizabeth Banks as the pregnant woman who got lured into pregnancy for that extra glow on her face, while it turns out quite the opposite. She is top class brilliant as the frustrated pregnant and is very natural. Her speech scene and delivery room scene were just brilliant. Besides her scenes, the dude meetings in the park are also very good with some humor here and there, mostly lead by Chris Rock. Jennifer Lopez thread is not well conceived to bring forth any emotion even though it had the potential. Cameron Diaz as always is breeze of fun. The guy who played Elizabeth Banks husband is also adorable.  Overall a decent watch if you ever had the experience of expecting but if not there is very little that you can identify with except for the guy jokes in dude meetings.
