Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Zombie Reddy - Movie Review


Zombie Reddy is claimed to be the first Zombie movie in Telugu and so they could have done a lot with this claim but alas they take the easy way out.

I am a huge Zombie Genre fan. Even in Hollywood there have been movies that used this as a genre and made interesting thrillers and then there were campy movies that used this as a mere prop for the easy way out. In Zombie Reddy it's the latter but the producers need to be appreciated for making the movie with good production values. 

The casting was decent. The writing was so patchy. The jokes work in few places. There is basic logic missing in many scenes with zombies(May be creative freedom). Music is good but goes overboard in few scenes for no reason. Cinematography and Editing are top notch. For the budget and production values at hand and also an able cast this movie could have done wonders but now it remains just a one-time watch average movie that too because it is first in its genre. 

Teja is good in the role and he acted decent too. Critically acclaimed actress and a Telugu girl Anandhi did good in her role bringing the needed charm and dignity to her role. The friends gang and rest of the cast did good in their roles. 

I hope this genre is explored more in Telugu by better filmmakers but until then this is an alright one time watch make-shift Telugu Zombie movie.
