Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Gaali Sampath - Review

Streaming: AHA

Gaali Sampath though written by Anil Ravipudi, it is a very different movie than his other movies. It has more of Rajendra Prasad's Signature than Anil's. Rajendra Prasad in his prime did such kind of movies. the only way I can think of categorizing them is as different movies. Like Chttu Kinda Pleader, Mutyamantha muddu, Pelli Pustakam, Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, Vaalu jada tholu beltu, Alibaba ara dozenu dongalu, Joker and many more like this. The only things common among them were RP and hatke-ness of them. The current generation may never know what a real talent Rajendra Prasad is.

Gaali Sampath is another such movie. It does not adhere to regular Telugu cinema format. One can say it has shades of some Malayalam formats. But that being said the movie does have some problems. The comedy does not work much in first half. RP and Satya take the onus and try to make it work. There are some good laughs and few emotional scenes but they are few and far between. Besides these two, everyone else seem like fillers in the narration. 

In second half Rajendra Prasad Shines high and you will be asking for more. You will also feel that they should have done a lot with the set up. This reminded me of an old movie "Papam Pasivadu". Watch it if you have not yet. 

Overall, Gaali Sampath needs to be appreciated but it falls short of being an admirable output. Watch it for the talented Rajendra Prasad.
