Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Godzilla vs Kong - No spoiler Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX

While watching the Godzilla vs Kong fight, my daughter was like "I want Kong to win because he is so nice to Humans." And instantly replied "Kong is too naive to the bad things humans are doing while Godzilla can sense them and so fighting humans. So both are needed." I then realized that summarizes this clash of the titans. Phew! What a watch it was.

This era is so blessed to watch these Titans in 4K IMAX with Dolby Atmos. Our generation grew up watching these in may be 35MM in stereo sound with more practical effects than CGI. I had this feeling while watching Kong: Skull Island, then with Godzilla and now with this one too. And I am asking for more. This is pure entertainment.

There was not even a single boring moment and every scene was like a climax from the beginning. And climax is just out of the world. This is the cinema that would make audience clap, whistle and cheer in the theaters. The climax in Hongkong is a visual treat.

I can not pick who acted better. For me both Kong and Godzilla deserve an Oscar. They both were so natural. I personally loved the cool country music twist to Kong. Rest of the cast is good. This movie focuses mainly on the Titans and very little time is spent on humans except the little kid role.

Overall, this is a complete entertainer and by the end you will be asking for more.
