Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Jersey - Review

I have watched Malli Raava from the director Gowtham. I loved it but surprisingly I do not remember the movie now. I only have flashes of it etched in my mind like it was my own life. That is the real beauty of Malli Raava. So when he teams up with Nani, the result obviously raises expectations.

As for me, I stepped into the theater with huge expectations and frankly the movie did not meet them. Instead it offered me something different from what I expected and made me fall in love with it.

Jersey is out and out Nani's movie and he is impeccable and irresistible in the role. His character looks incomplete until the very last 5 minutes and then when the director completes the last piece of the puzzle you will feel like standing up and clapping after wiping your tears. Shraddha did good in her role of a supporting yet strict wife. The kid who played Nani's son is very apt and looked good. Sathya Raj plays a good supporting role. Rest of the cast is good.

Anirudh can now say that he has finally arrived into Telugu cinema with Jersey. His bgm and songs are a huge plus for the movie. The visuals are just right amounts of authentic. The cricket matches that are shown and Nani's batting style are perfect.

In the last few minutes of the movie there is a scene about a family photo. Once you are done watching the movie, ask yourself, "Why that scene?". If you find the answer then you can appreciate Gowtham more. The movie has some emotional scenes very unlike what we regularly see. They are more like emotional moments. They do not have the melodrama but the emotions are conveyed so spot on. The movie's only problem is its pace. The movie has its own pace not adhering to the cinematic expectations.

In conclusion, if only Jersey's pace was a little better, I would have almost called this a Nani's Sagara Sangamam. But all is not lost because Jersey is still a must watch.
