Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

Padi Padi Leche Manasu - Review

Padi Padi Leche Manasu could have been a beautiful movie if not for two glaring blunders. One is the green mat shots in the movie and the lack of convincing plot in second half.

There have been lot of movies that used green mat shots but in Padi padi leche manasu it looks very bad because in this movie every frame looks like a beautiful painting. The colors, the art work, the costumes, the makeup, the camera work and the frames they all look impeccable. It looks so effortlessly beautiful. So after this if you see a scene with green mat, it looks so out of place and disturbing in the movie.

Coming to the second blunder, the movie is very easy to fall in love with first half. It is one of the best first halves in a love story in Telugu cinema. Both Sai Pallavi and Shrawanand did very good in their roles. Every thing falls so perfectly in place in first half. The director seems so in control of the proceedings. But when the second half starts, the movie takes a turn and changes the tone which is acceptable as he plot needs a good conflict. But after everything settles down, Sunil enters the scene and the scenes that follow completely lack clarity. Even in the end when the twist is revealed, the scenes still do not add up completely. The conviction in the plot is totally missing but it is a brilliant concept.

The total second half is carried over the shoulders of Sai Pallavi and she does a brilliant job even in unconvincing scenes to lift them to convincing levels. There are few very badly written scenes where if you remove Sai Pallavi, the scene would have fell flat. Say, the stairs scene in her friend's house, the argument scene in Nepal in first half and many more. She is undoubtedly, he best actress of this generation.

The only way to enjoy this movie completely is watching second time after understanding the plot twists. It is a beautiful concept executed only half way through. If not anything watch for Sai Pallavi's brilliant acting.
