Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

Raja ది Great - Review

In the scene where Ravi Teja is introduced, there is a frame hanging on the wall with Charlie Chaplin's face on it and a quote written next to it that goes like "A day without laughter is a day wasted." And Anil Ravipudi makes sure your day is not wasted if you watch his latest movie "Raja ది Great".

Anil Ravipudi in his last two movies Pataas and Supreme showed his talent in making a good commercial cinema with no cliches. In this movie he gives us a good comedy film with a very normal story. Ravi Teja is in full form and in his one of the best roles. His role as blind fighter, his character as happy guy and his mannerisms mixed with able support from Srinivas Reddy are a treat to the audience. There are so many hilarious episodes with Rajendra Prasad, senior actor Annapoorna, Vidyullekha, JP, Posani, Prabhas Seenu, Satyam Rajesh, Hariteja, Surekha Vani, Sana etc. There are cameos by many other comedians Ali, Bithiri Satti, Sapthagiri, Samppornesh Babu, Thagubothu Ramesh, Viva Harsha etc. And the comedy is purely clean U rated. There are few confrontation scenes that are whistle-worthy.

Now coming to drawbacks, the movie's story offers no novelty. There is predictability in the story but the director manages with decent screenplay. Another major minus for the movie are the songs and Mehreen in those. She acted alright but she lacks the typical screen persona required of a heroine. Also movie feels dragged towards the end with three back to back fight scenes but interlaced with good comedy bits.

All in all movie is a laugh-fest with right commercial elements but with a very average story-line.
