Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Shadow - Review

Yes, you read it right. I watched this movie and did not turn into an insane zombie yet. Thanks to the pretty decent movies I followed up with. Everyone had heard that someone had told them that they have heard how bad "Shadow" is. I can't disagree with any of the hearsay. So let me focus on why anyone would even think of making this movie. Venki to start with. He would have wanted to try his favorite hairstyle, his ultra weird costumes, his irritating to the core comedy acting and some cool dance moves for one last time in his career. Thanks to this movie, he would not go back to any of those again , if he had learnt his lessons by now. And one other main reason would have been to enact Gabbar Singh Antyakshari episode, imitating Pawan Kalyan. Coming to Srikanth, he gets to be part of a mainstream cinema for a change. Post Shakti, Meher wanted someone to make a movie based on a lady oriented Hollywood action movie, Colombiana. Who better than Venki for a lady oriented subject but the change is Venki played the lady in Hollywood movie. I was ROFLing all over the floor when Venki gets arrested as a drunkard imagining him in Hollywood version where the heroine gets arrested same way "in a cocktail dress". But in Venki's defense, it would have been better if they had stuck to the original than making it a kichidi of highlight scenes from recent hits Dookudu, Gabbar singh, Naayak etc.What is still puzzling me is how could anyone get a producer to produce this movie with such high technical values and great locations. PLEASE WATCH IT IN THEATERS FOR THAT PRODUCER'S SAKE.
