Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Wild Dog - Movie Review

Wild Dog is zero nonsense, all thriller URI meets D-Day meets Argo. The movie does not waste any time to get into the story. It does not even waste any time for hero introduction. Movie keeps you on the edge of the seat right from the word go. It sometimes almost feels like rushed.

The movie is tailor made for Nagarjuna and he carries off the role with ease. Next hero of the movie is the producer who dared to invest in such a project with experimental commerciality. Then Thaman's bgm is easily the game changer for this movie. 

The cast of the movie is apt in their roles. With very few lesser known faces for Telugu audience and from the content, it looks very less of a Telugu main stream and more of some Telugu Independent cinema. The camera work helps too. 

For such a technically sound movie, the editing looks patchy in few scenes. The action does not match the hype given. The very last scene of the movie borders on cringe-inducing. That scene and few other scenes missed the mark due to the lack of good dialogue writing. Some good dialogues could have easily taken the movie to the next level. The trailer of the movie is a big spoiler. It reveals so many plot twists.

Overall, Wild Dog is a good one time watch thriller.
