Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Madha(Telugu) - Review


Streaming: Amazon Prime
I have heard of this movie's name sometime back and totally forgot. When I saw it popup on Amazon Prime, the posters and the visuals excited me. So I gave it a try and I can say it was a right decision.

Madha is not a horror. It is a psychological thriller. A seemingly all new cast act as mere props in a very good setup of the movie. Madha got the technicalities of film making spot on. The art work is biggest asset for the movie. Achieving what they achieved with visuals on a small budget is the real talent of art department. Next the camera work is top notch. The frames are all very meticulously etched.

Movie's main problem is the script that does not do justice to the visuals. But the visuals makes up for most of it. The ending can be disappointing for the people. The screenplay and direction are good. Better actors could have done better performances. So the casting could have been better.

Overall, its disturbingly impressive visuals make it a good watch if you can cut some slack to the acting and a simple story.
