Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Broche vaarevaru raa - Movie Review

If you have not seen the movie Mental Madhilo yet, I would say first watch it. It is from the same director as this movie. It is not related to this movie but it is a good movie though. Coming to Broche vaarevaru raa, it is a curious combination of racy screenplay with a simple story line. It is a pleasant comedy thriller.

I had multiple things to look forward to in this movie. Firstly, Nivetha Thomas is a powerhouse of a performer and she has been blasphemously under-used in her last few outings. Then Satya Dev is a brilliant and affable performer. And Nivetha Pethuraj is a very confident performer. Next it was Vivek Athreya's direction after Mental Madhilo. And lastly, Vivek Sagar scored a beautiful music album after Pelli Choopulu and Sammohanam. I should say, none of the above mentioned people disappointed. Priyadarshi and Rahul once again proved that, in the hands of a good writer, they are good performers of comedy.

Movie is a very easy to watch comedy thriller. According to me (and it is my personal opinion) the only problem for the movie is one particular scene in second half. It is a couple of minutes scene, in which, totally unnecessarily, a barrage of Telugu expletives/Telugu boothulu are used. At least in USA theaters, they were not muted. So please be aware.

Overall, Broche Vaarevaru Raa is a breezy, easy on the senses comedy thriller(Except for the one scene mentioned above), supported by able cast and talented technical crew.
