Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Anthariksham - Review

The advantage of having a good actor in a movie is that, even if you have a most silliest plot they can still add some magic to it with their conviction filled acting. One such actor is Sathya Dev. In the whole movie of Anthariksham, the scenes where Sathya Dev gets a dialogue or two are the only scenes that look natural.

Anthariksham suffers from Telugu cinema disorder called, cinematic liberty. The movie takes so much liberty with gravity, lack of oxygen in space, discipline and preparation required for astronauts and also suffers majorly from ineffective plot. The tension required for such an adventure is completely missing.

Varun's character is the biggest joke of the movie. He is like a Puri Jagannath hero in space. Aditi's character graph is decent in first half and in second half she becomes merely a love-struck damsel that too in a most cheesy way. Rahman/Raghu and Avasarala Srinivas also look out of the place in this half baked script. Lavanya's role is handled so hastily.

Sankalp scores brownie points for the guts to take up this script. He also had done all the required research related to the space jargon. But he missed out on physics and story dynamics. That makes the movie a letdown.

It is up to you to watch this movie, but please do not show this to the audience outside the two states.
