Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

First Man - Movie Review

Damien Chazelle says welcome to the reality. Neil Armstrong is undoubtedly a great inspiration for whole humanity. Damien Chazelle's First Man emphasizes on the fact that it was not an easy path for Armstrong.

Hollywood has, for a longer time, shown space travel as so smooth and stylish trip. First Man is the stark reality of space travel. Those extreme closeups of inside the space vehicle along with sound effects of how it feels inside will surely make your heart race.

When the first trailer of this movie came out, I knew this will not be like a typical Hollywood space movie. And I was absolutely right but Damien went beyond my expectations. The way he puts you right next to Armstrong in all his inner conflicts with help from tight close ups are the heart of this movie. You have seen Armstrong from far away in pictures or news but this movie brings audience right up close to him and let them go through what he has gone through.

Damein's master film making is what makes First Man a must watch. This is not your typical Hollywood space movie. It is an emotional painful struggle of Armstrong before he became the first man to walk the moon. Along with it Damien paints a realistic unsettling picture of space travel. That in my books is a clear winner. Damien Chazelle is a genius in writing tense drama and he gives a new dimension to space travel and Neil Armstrong's story.
