Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Hello!(Telugu) - Review

Let me just start by saying that I hate Hello movie. To understand that line you will have to watch the movie and understand the very beautiful interpretation of "I hate you". Moving on to the movie, Vikram Kumar once again proves that he can paint one heck of a beautiful movie onto the celluloid. He did that with Ishq, Manam and now this. Movie looks gorgeous to start with owing to brilliant cinematography and art work.

The lead cast is very good looking. Handsome Akhil and super cute Kalyani look apt for the roles and did well too. Even their counterparts as kids did an awesome job and they stay for a long time on screen too. In a way this movie is totally unconventional. Akhil will be seen may be for 30 minutes in the first half and Kalyani only appears for 10 minutes. And they do not meet in the first half. Akhil did pretty good in the jaw-dropping action scenes. Another major highlight of the movie is Ramya Krishna and Jagapathi babu as parents. Their scenes with the kid and Akhil are very beautifully written and very touching. The music gels well with the mood of the movie. Only complaint on the movie is the pace.

Overall, it is a beautifully made movie on a wafer thin beautiful story stuffed with lots of beautiful emotions well supported by beautiful actors and beautiful visuals. That's five beautifuls there and I still feel I might be missing few more.
