Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Thor Ragnarok - Review

First things first, DC Comics should take a leaf or two or even a complete book from makers of Marvel universe on how to make a kickass super hero action flick. First you introduce Iron Man to the generation and when he became popular, follow it up with Captain America, Revamp Hulk and throw in some Thor just in time for Avengers. When everyone thought Age Of Ultron was just okay, Ant-man was introduced, they bring in Spiderman into Civil War and when no one was in mood for another Thor movie, they release Thor Ragnarok and make it a pretty good one while they are at it.

What sets aside Marvel universe from DC Comics is that there us humor and style in this one, script points not so much but who cares as long as you like what you see. In this one, they even add a flavor that is the flavor of the season, the retro flavor and it only helps the movie to go few notches higher. They pay homage to retro music and retro movies like Star Wars, Blade Runner etc and it surely works.

Overall, Thor is definitely a must watch action flick of the season.
