Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Ami Tumi (Telugu) Review

Mohanakrishna Indraganti became a household name with Ashta Chemma but he is more than that. He is a prolific writer and a very different kind of filmmaker(Grahanam/Mayabazar) who off late seems to be inclined towards workable cinema. Ami Tumi also showcases the same inclination. He takes a very simple been there done that kind of story and adds a boring screenplay to it. What works for the movie though is his dialogue writing. There are two types of comedy in the movie. Situational and dialogue comedy. Situational comedy hardly works. But the dialogues are written well with so much humor in them. The other thing that works is Vennela Kishore. He carries the whole movie on his shoulders but with very less substance to carry. Manisharma's two songs and his BGM are another major asset. He shows why he is a class apart from all his contemporaries. The last plus point of the movie is its runtime of 2 hours. Avasarala Srinivas did alright. Tanikella bordered on the thin line between comedy and over acting. Among the new faces, Vennela Kishore's assistant is good. Eesha did a very good job and her dubbing suited her too. Aditi looked cute but very superficial in her expressions. Adivi Sesh is totally and blasphemously wasted in a 10 minute role where 6 minutes are songs. He is one actor who oozes talent but unfortunately he is always under-utilized. The main problem with the movie is the scenes take a bit too long to conclude. But as I said earlier the dialogues save the day most of the times.

Do not get me wrong but movie as such does not do wonders to your laughing bone but if you managed to get yourself to the theaters then the aforementioned plus points are gonna keep you from getting totally disappointed and make you LOL in very few scenes but ROFL, nahh.
