Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Sudigadu review

A nobody called Rama Rao struggled and struggled and struggled and then got Patala Bhairavi. Same way another nobody called Chiranjeevi struggled and struggled and struggled and struggled and struggled and then got Khaidi. As many say what happened after those two movies is history. A history of mass commercial cinema. And Sudigadu is not that movie for Allari Naresh and as we know he is not trying to be another NTR or Chiru. But the movie tries to cover all the history in a 2 and half hour movie. Not an unattainable feat if there was an efficient director. My bet would have been Srinu Vytla for big budget or E.Sattibabu(Allari Naresh's cousin) for low budget. Bheemineni tried his best but Allari Naresh carries this whole movie on his lean shoulders like any Telugu mass hero. Monal was good as per Telugu cinema heroine standards and hot when script demanded. Songs wise Catchy song, Gokudu (:P) . Family song and Sudden star songs are good. There are so many spoofs, if you can understand and follow each scene. There are so many blink and you miss spoofs too. First half is quick and timepass while second half is total fun but it tries to fit in too many things. Spoofs on Thoda kottudu, Maryada Ramanna, Shiva, rape scenes on road, Dookudu mind-blind dialogue, Magadheera current touch, Kushi kids scene, Mass proposal scene, Pokiri batch number dialogue, Rajamouli weapons and many more are present along with spoofs on TV serials, Omkar and comedy from skits. Don't watch this as Allari Naresh's Patala bhairavi or Khaidi, watch it as just another movie of his and like all those 10 or 15 movies you will be entertained. Lets not bog down Allari Naresh too with expectations.
