Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Kya Super Kool Hai Hum

It's been 7 years since the first part and times have changed alot. Crude vulgar jokes in cinema are not that frowned upon now. So it is a kind of a challenge for this movie to live upto. Forgive my analogy but KSKHH for KKHH is like Godfather 2 for Godfather. One of those rarest sequels that are better or on par with original. This movie is outrageously vulgar with so much
of double meaning and at times obvious meaning. One of the first scenes of the movie has people speaking in Marathi and also some jokes in Marathi. but don't get disappointed if you don't understand Marathi, what you will witness later is very easy to follow vulgarity :P The innumerable references to Anupam Kher's mother's name, Suckru and its music, Ritesh's profession, collectibles from movies like Vicky Donor and Delhi Belly, Neha's favorite TV serial and many more. Ritesh as usual was at his vulgar best as if he is destined for this role. Tushaar is his usual stupid comedian. The scene stealer is Suckru, the dog. The climax dialogue of Ritesh "Har ek ko chunn chunn ke maarna" and what follows after is OMG hilarious. No this is not for kids and not for serious types. But ppl with little common sense and a motive to have some fun can watch it and follow it. Songs are a big plus when compared to the first one. Dil garden garden, Shirt da button, Hum to hain cappuccino(remix of UP bihar lootne) are great tracks.
