Teri Meri Kahaani - Review

It's not an all bad movie and it's not even in the vicinity of a bad movie but the movie has a major flaw. Movies are meant for entertainment for audience and for money making for most of the makers. As long as the latter does not become too obvious, the audience would not mind the entertainment. In Ter meri kahaani the latter is too obvious. Movie is entertaining with 3 love stories that don't have any reason or purpose for being in same movie. I would like to compare it with the obvious Love Aaj Kal. That one had a purpose for two stories and so did all the movies on reincarnation. BTW this one is also not a movie based on reincarnation. Then "Why" is the question that would haunt you till the end and after that you wouldn't care much as this one did not have any impact on you. But would you regret watching it? No, thanks to Shahid, Priyanka and all the actors they make this a watchable fare.

Don't quote the examples of Hum Tum and Fanaa and say you had expectations from Kunal Kohli on this. He is not a good film maker at all. He is still stuck in his DD's Phillip's top ten songs days. He had such a brilliant master piece in "When Harry met Sally" to ripoff for Hum Tum and his Fanaa was junk if not for the combo of Aamir and Kajol.

Shahid was brilliant as Javed and the two others were the similar roles he played before. Priyanka had too many variations to show, thanks to the way costumes of women had changed over years and she fitted perfectly in each of those costumes with right body language. Music is good in the movie except for the song "Humse pyaar" which sounds very similar to "Humka peeni hai" from Dabbang. Mukhtasar is still my favorite.

To sum it all, watch it in leisure and you would not regret but don't expect a masterpiece, even Kunal Kohli didn't try to make one.
