Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Tom and Jerry - Movie Review


When we were kids Tom and Jerry was the most watched cartoon at our home. We loved it and so did the most who watched it. Around same time I also saw a movie called Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I do not remember the story much but I still remember that it was cartoons interacting with real people. I loved the idea and so wished Tom and Jerry were also part of such a movie. 

I was so wrong. Now I realize that Tom and Jerry in real world is not much fun. One small example I can give is the Tornado scene in the movie is not even half as much fun as in cartoons. In so many places I was torn between the rational thinking and mad fun. That in my opinion was the biggest loss of this movie. Do not get me wrong, movie has its moments but you will not be revisiting this ever again unlike the cartoons that you still watch.

That aside the makers did some boo-boos too. There were numerous scenes where the actors seemed like looking at the wrong place while interacting with a cartoon character. The setup was silly and illogical which is apt for the movie. But the actors looked out of place than in sync with the animated ones. 

Overall, Tom and Jerry movie will help you get nostalgic and nothing more.
