RED - Telugu Movie Review
Kishore Tirumala has a very peculiar style when dealing with his rom coms. There is no rush. Instead he builds emotions, feel etc at a steady pace with his finest dialogues and by climax he leaves you satisfied with the experience. Red suffers majorly due to that same style of narration.
Red is a good concept on paper for a thriller. It should have been at least 45 minutes shorter. Trailers already reveal that it is a double role but the movie treats it as if it is a twist. I feel that could have been avoided and that would have cut short some runtime.
After huge success of Ismart Shankar, Mani Sharma scores music for this and I feel this is the weakest album from him in his second innings. Ram is a very good actor but he needs to dig deeper to show his real capacity. In this movie he failed to show much variance between two roles. In most of the scenes you have to recognize the characters based on his dressing because the hairdo and makeups were made same for both to help the script. Amritha did good in her role. Satya does good. Nivetha is wasted. Malvika is okay.
Overall, Red is good on paper and could have been good on screen if it was shorter.
Tail piece: Why is Netflix being short changed when it comes to Telugu content.
