Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Article 15 - Review

Article 15 is not just about caste based crimes, it is about how caste is so much imbibed into the dna of our society. It is also about how being proud of your country also entitles you to question what is wrong with your country. I bet half the dialogues of the villains of the movie have been uttered by you in your real life. Thats how much hard hitting this movie is.

The movie does not use the filmy preachy dialogues to deliver the message. Instead it just shows what is so wrong in the normalcy in our society. It questions the balance we seek in the society on the scale of righteousness.

The movie is so uncompromising on deliver its message that there is a 2 min scene where audience are made to read Article 15 while Vandemataram is played in the bgm. That is goose bumps inducing scene. The actors are top notch. Everyone from Ayushman to Manoj Pahwa to Isha to Sayani are so perfect in their roles. The main plus of the movie is its humor. The movie uses its sarcasm throughout the movie to show the wrongs of the society.

There is a scene where a higher caste policeman comments "these people get educated on our tax money and then try to get us arrested. We should have let them be." Article 15 clearly shows a mirror to all of us on how wrong we are on this subject of equality. The movie even touches the human side of the people fighting for equality.

In short, Article 15 is totally on point, humorous, sarcastic, touching and hard-hitting must watch movie.
