Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Suryakantham - Review

Suryakantham is kind of Pawan Kalyan's Badri from Renu Desai's perspective. And it is a very good idea too. There is also a dialogue that is almost on the lines of Renu Desai's last lines in Badri and Niharika in a way conveys that it is borrowed one too.

Surakantham's main issue is that it needed able actors for lead roles and they could only get one, that is Niharika. She aced the authored back role written for her and written with her in mind. Perlene did alright in her limited abilities and the person who dubbed for her did not suit her in few scenes. Rahul Vijay needs to improve a lot. There are dialogues too in the movie on his blank expressions. That's how bad he is. But his role was equally important like Niharika and a better actor in that role could have taken it to different level.

As a movie, Suryakantham is enjoyable with a very wafer thin story line. But whenever Niharika is on screen she totally dominates. Rest of the times movie is just passable owing to the other two actors limitations. Dialogues are top notch and most of the good ones are given to Rahul, if only he could have made good use of them. The production values are pretty good. Music is soothing to the ears and gels well with the mood of the movie. As usual Sid Sriram song will stand out and you will keep humming it.

Overall, Suryakantham is modern day romantic comedy with many emotions and a decent watch.
