Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Nenu Local - Review

Nani is everyone's favorite, at least almost everyone's. Everyone wants his movie to be a hit. But the love stops there. You can not have a hit movie out of a bad movie. He got lucky with Majnu and Gentleman but Nenu Local, not so much. Nenu Local is a cliched subject dealt in a most inefficient way. It drags too. The comedy is rarely situational. Most of the comedy is created using small skit like episodes. And it is stale too. The writing, the dialogues and even the production values are very sub-standard. Only good thing about the movie is Nani. He looked in perfect shape and his comic timing as always is impeccable. His dance is a treat. But there is a hitch there too. He kind of crosses the line sometimes and showcases his over acting side. He has done that in Gentleman, Majnu and now this. Keerthy looked good is few scenes and looked wood faced in a badly written role. Rest of cast is all busy over acting most of the times. Naveen Chandra's intro is good but again he is also wasted in a role that was hardly written. Songs are okay. Fights and Nani's styling are good and used to showcase Nani's attitude very well. 

If I have to give a clear picture of how this movie is , I would say that I shall place this movie between Gentleman and Majnu, a little bit closer to Majnu. I wish I can say that you can watch this movie for Nani but sorry I can not.
