Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Jyo Achyuthananda - Review

I wanted to write this review in Telugu but due to some technical constraints I am writing in English. Now the reason I wanted to write in Telugu is because of the beautiful Telugu language I have heard in this movie. Like I read in one of the reviews, may be this generation audience might find it difficult to follow few dialogues.

Coming to the movie, it is a love story of two brothers but not a beautiful one. Instead it is a very deeply touching story between two brothers. First half goes in a rather lighter vein infused with hilarious dialogues. It is the second half that is the heart of the movie. The way it was handled is definitely praise worthy. It does not get overly melodramatic or very subtle. It is just right. Every scene between the brothers is multi layered. Some look comic and some look like emotional scenes while some seem like confronting scenes but every scene is very subtly used to demonstrate the gap between the brothers. Like his previous movie, Srinivas Avasarala again depicts middle class life very aptly. Music is a major highlight for this movie. The lyricist Bhaskarbhatla gave his career's best. Now after watching the movie, I completely understand the lyrics of "Oka Lalana" in the movie's context and cannot stop appreciating them.

Oka lalana oka deevena sadi cheyava edha maatuna, thiya theeyani priya bhaavana chigurinchadha "porapaatuna".  Kalavosukunna oosulu emayinavo asalemo, pena vesukunna premalu mela mellaga etu poyeno. That lyric sums up the movie for me. If there was ever love between the brothers, what happened to all those memories and wont it ever at least "accidentally" come back sometime.

And no I can't even talk about the climax scene. Let me just say that it choked me up with tears rolling down. I would prescribe this movie as a must to all those who love their brothers.
