Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Dochay - Review

Swamy ra ra was a trend setter in its own way. So obviously Sudheer Varma's second outing Dochay had all it's eyes on it. Second outings are always tricky ones and not many come out with flying colors. Sudheer also falters a bit but he sticks to stuff that mainly worked in Swamy ra ra and that also works here to an extent. A more intelligent climax could have done the trick. Movie till the end is an intelligent film. The character of the hero is established pretty well as a conman with good spontaneous thinking. So climax kind of falls below the level of that guy. Chay is good in this movie and suited the role well but as always screws up when dancing. Kriti Sanon is pretty good looking and looks beautiful without any extra efforts from the director. She is a major plus for the proceedings and she acts well too. Rest of the cast including the YouTube sensations are all good and encouraging the actors from YouTube short films is appreciable. Music of the movie plays a major role in establishing this movie as new age cinema. In short, Dochay is hatke movie with less cliches but not so intelligent climax. A strict one time fun watch.
