Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. S/O Satyamurthy(SOS) - Review

SOS reminds me off the New Zealand innings in the recently concluded Cricket World cup final. A super solid list of players/actors that spelled success on paper but on the D-day somehow the sum total does not add up to the expectations. SOS was Julaayi with Upendra and Sneha added to it. So it was bound to be good if not better. But two things mainly fail the movie. Trivikram's average writing and Bunny's attempt at different acting that borders on irritating some times. Bunny was pretty good in Julaayi and Race Gurram but in SOS he tried to act like Chiru and failed. What saves the movie is Brahmanandam in the second half and decent climax. Upendra and Sneha both seemed to have been wasted even though it was a pleasant experience to see them on screen, especially Upendra. Except for Super Machi rest of the songs are just average on screen. Just like Attarintiki daaredhi action episodes look very half baked. First half is very stale with a slow narration and little entertainment. Second half starts the same way and continues same until Brahmanandam enters. From there movie falls in the track but enough damage is already done by then. Overall SOS is a strictly okay and little bit boring(in first half mainly) Trivikram movie.
Note: This is a clean family movie with little violence and blood.
