Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Legend - Review

Balakrishna aka Balayya has seen the worst possible lows in his career and in his movie standards. So now he is in the it can only get better phase. Legend is one of those beyond expectations movie and I felt it is better than Simha. Boyapati's direction is always good. It is the story, screenplay and the dialogues of his movies that falter here and there. Dammu was a clear example of silly story, boring screenplay and punchless dialogues while Legend hits the bullseye in all those departments. Dialogues were topnotch and Balayya delivered them in his own inimitable style. One person who I felt did not get the due credit from all the reviewers were Jagapathi Babu. He was outstanding as the egoistic villain. The intensity in his eyes when he was sitting in the railway station after the insult done for him is truly a class act. His styling, characterization and his acting all show his true potential. Music was a major plus. As always Boyapati takes few leaves out of Rajamouli's book like the interval episode is a clear Magadheera inspired action episode. The twist in the tale is also decent unlike Dammu. Overall Boyapati does not disappoint Balayya fans and also typical commercial cinema fans this time.
