Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Rabhasa - Review

Lets answer some basic questions first. Is Rabhasa for NTR, what Dookudu was for Mahesh or what Attarintiki daaredi was for Pawan? No, not even close. Lets move ahead with the actual review now. Rabhasa is a combination of Kandireega, Brindavanam, Allari Alludu and all Srinu Vytla hit movies. It is a pretty obvious one and very irritatingly obvious in some instances. Big heroes like Pawan, Mahesh and NTR should out right reject any movie which requires Brahmanandam in second half. It has become too much routine now. Lets mention the positives in the movie now. Yes movie has some good scenes in first half in college. In second half the comedy scenes work well. But just like Badshah, the story woven around the comedy is very complicated at times, silly at times and a bit overwhelming rest of the times. NTR looked pretty good and shouldered the movie pretty well. In the scene where he confronts his dad and mom, he succeeds in bringing an emotion to the scene that was not built up properly by screenplay. And unlike Badshah, this time NTR actually gets to do some good comedy than totally relying on Brahmanandam. But his dances were pretty routine and average. Pranitha was good in a brief role and Samantha proves why glamour for a heroine is an art. She looked awkward in the costumes than looking hot. Rest of the supporting cast do what they have already done in numerous movies before that. Songs are a major minus. Overall, NTR looks like a million bucks but in a movie that is not worth that much.  It is just an okay movie if you can sit through some very very cliched scenes but  definitely not the one fans were waiting for.
