Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

Krrish 3 Review

Firstly, when we are talking about Rakesh Roshan's Scifi series KMG-Krrish, how can we include original or uninspired in same sentence. KMG was not original(ET ripoff) and Krrish also was not(Paycheck inspired). So how can we expect Krrish 3 to be original. So it is inspired from X-Men, Resident Evil and latest Man of Steel climax. Now for the last part Rakesh Roshan seriously needs appreciation. How can you ripoff something with great CGI effects from a movie that was released barely 4 months back, put it in your movie, add last minute CGI and release your movie. That seriously needs great dedication.

Coming to the content of the movie, keeping aside the fact that the graphics look very mediocre, the movie has a pretty decent setup. A big scheme of things is put in place in first half but what uncovers in second half is a mere wastage of all that. Yes Rakesh Roshan was at his creative best but at times he went overboard with creativity and rest of the times graphics, songs and old Hrithik screwed it up for the movie. Songs are a big letdown. It happened with Kites and now this. You cannot have a superstar's movie with not even one hit song in it.

My conclusion is that Krrish is not that path-breaking CGI film for India. It is at best a 90s TV serial level graphics aka Sigma serial in 90s. But it at least could have tried being an entertaining movie which it failed in the latter part of the movie. It is too silly for adults to get entertained and too busy and complicated for kids to enjoy. But the hype around the movie can surely save it from being a disaster.
