Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

Greekuveerudu

The amount of effort and focus that went into the make over of Nag and the ultra stylish photo shoots are no where to be seen when it comes to the actual movie. Movie at best is half baked, rushed up and very superficial. In Santosham Nag says "Preminchukodaaniki iddaru manushulu chaalu, kaani pelli chesukodaaniki rendu kutumbaalu kaavali". That one dialogue is the proof of how serious and strong Dasarath was in his conviction of that script.  Greekuveerudu fails at that level totally as in the movie seems more like a product that was manufactured to work with plastic faces, superficial emotions, out of the blue totally illogical scenes etc. I said rushed up because of the worst graphics work ever in Nag's movies till date. Some reviewers blame the producer and some the director but I feel the blame is totally on Nag. With around two decades of experience, it is totally outrageous and irresponsible for Nag to allow such a mediocre half baked product to even release. There are few emotions that should have worked but thanks to the totally shaky ground work they just get ignored. Like the scene where the kid sees his dad in the cloud and the cloud comes towards would have been a great scene in a good movie. But in this the by-then-pissed-off viewer totally denies to get moved by that scene. Nag seems to be focusing only on the total count of his films and not the quality. Nag, please get well soon or retire. (Sorry that last sentence was from the ardent fan in me who took over for a second there.)
