Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Swamy Raa Raa

"I get inspired and copy from all the movies I watch". Now that the director admitted that fact, he shamelessly or shall I say openly copies so much stuff from mostly Hindi and Telugu cinema and comes up with an interesting movie.

As far as I know the basic plot is original and a very intelligent one at that. But the way Swathi and co are added to the plot is a straight lift from Kshana kshanam. As a matter of fact the whole Swathi role, her mother on phone, her co-worker friend, her introduction, believing hero as nice guy, a thief helping her etc everything is a straight lift. Climax shooting episode technique(only) lifted from Shaitaan and idea of aiming guns at everyone from Anaganaga oka Roju. What is so intelligent about the movie is the director knows that the audience expect hero and heroine to become part of the "Idol" thread and so he teases them.While I am at it I may be even able to claim that the whole Idol robbery may also be lifted from "Govinda Govinda".

Overall the movie is very good and fresh in taking and some content. Confused???? Copied does not necessarily mean bad or boring movie. It all depends on presentation. Lastly, main hero of the movie is BGM.
