Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Baadshah

Baadshah, a heavily hyped costly movie from the director of comedy hits Ready, King, Namo venkatesa and Dookudu. Baadshah, even with a powerful title and a very mass hero is still a comedy movie. There is not much successful hero elevation nor great dances nor powerful punch dialogues. It is a plain comedy movie with heavy mafia backdrop on the lines of Pokiri. First half is full Kajal banthi puranam comedy and second half completely belongs to Brahmanandam. BGM by Thaman is very powerful in scenes of Baadshah. NTR is used as a hero only for the story, fights and songs. He was very underutilized for comedy, badly choreographed in songs, given poor punch dialogues and dressed up in silly costumes. He carries himself very well in the role of Baadshah but only if costumes were any better, it would have been more powerful. Only banthi poola janaki dances are decent. NTR should stop lengthy steps and this movie is not even in vicinity of Adhurs as far as dances are concerned. Srinu Vytla did not focus on any plus point of NTR. Even in the scene where his brother dies, NTR's scope to show his brilliant emotions was reduced very much. There is not even single good dialogue for NTR in the movie except for the comedy dialogue on movie actor Siddharth and Dil Raju. On a whole it is a family entertainer that will surely disappoint NTR fans.
