Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Naayak movie review

Seems like Ram Charan found a new genre for this fast food generation, A fast food commerciality. Take a beaten to death script by combining the past commercial successes and come up with a crisp edited version with good songs, decent fights and no melodrama. Racha was first and Naayak is second. This is a new genre and I am not sure how unprejudiced audience would receive this. For me Racha was an average fare and this one is no different but Racha final outcome was more than above average.

Coming to this movie, Songs are the first highlight except Charmee song. Locations and cinematography were brilliant. Charan was brilliant in dances and decent in fights. His dressing was also pretty good. Heroines are wasted. Comedians try their best but nothing great happens in comedy department. I don't understand the comparison between Gabbar Singh Anthyakshari scene and Chocolate scene in Naayak. It is no where close and the only comedian who made me laugh was Jaya Prakash and that too in few scenes. If you have seen Adhurs, Simhadri, Krishna, King etc then be prepared for deja vu. Overall a high budgeted commercial kichidi and off late there are many takers for this kichidi.
