Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. We need to talk about Kevin - Review

First "The killer inside me" and now "We need to talk about Kevin", I am on a disturbing movies' marathon. I strongly advise couples, who have differences over their kids, to stay away from this movie. It only makes you hate your kid more. Actually no parent should watch this, if it is gonna affect your relation with your kid.

But as a movie it belongs to art movie genre. It has so many dead slow scenes that has some deep meaning behind them and beyond the comprehension of common movie goers. She keeps washing the red stains on her house, her fingers, hands, nails etc. Does that mean even though her kid did that brutal thing, there is blood on her hands, she is as much guilty as her son. And does that mean towards the end she does not feel the guilt anymore because she owned up her son. Yeah it did not make sense but the scenes were very slow and a lot of stuff is left to our imagination.

Direction of the scenes was top notch. Jumping between past and present scenes is very challengingly done. Tilda Swinton as we know is a brilliant actress and she lives up to it again. The teenager also did a good job and the kid who played Kevin was scary and he needs to be given a chance in a horror movie.

Again the movie is not that bad but it's a statutory warning for parents not to watch this.
