Amaram Akhilam Prema - Review
Streaming: AHA
I am writing this review to tell you that I liked this movie. But could this have been better? Yes the entire first half can be changed. Let's get into details.
At the very outset Amaram Akhilam Prema has too many similarities with Trivikram's cult classic debut Nuvve Nuvve. The whole Father daughter relation, movie starting with reference to a mythology, hero working in dad's store with no interest and few more. Add to that the forced love story scenes, outdated tactics, hero's friends bad acting etc the whole first half is cringy. Then the interval block happens, an unexpected twist.
You immediately notice a step up in the proceedings and then the brilliance of Shivshakti Sachdev unfolds. Trust me at first you will not appreciate her. In second half, she makes you sit up and notice her with her mesmerizing emotional performance. On one hand director tries to convey a complicated conflict in her mind and her expressions match that too perfect. Especially the scene where she goes to Amar's home for pooja and when sitting down in pooja, that was a very subtle conflict. She conveyed it so perfect. She follows it up with some more mind blowing performances in following scenes. The scene where she calls Amar to meet her, oh my god, watch it to believe it. Her voice artist also did an awesome job to match her acting.
Coming to movie, bear with first half and the second half is no less than a Dil Raju mark blockbuster family dramas(for a lack of better analogy). It pulls you into the proceedings so efficiently. I so wish Jonathan Edwards, the director, focussed a bit more on first half. Then this could have been a must watch if not a classic. Music by Radhan is inconsistent in songs. Some songs feel very misplaced and some are okay. But no song stands out. But the BGM carries the soul of the movie very well. Cinematography, ART and Production values are decent.
Overall, Amaram Akhilam Prema is a neat emotional movie worth your time but with a cringy first half. Take a bow Shivshakti Sachdev.
