Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Tag - Review

More often than not in Hollywood, a movie on group of boys/men will predominantly be about their boozing or drugs or sex fantasies. No offense to earlier ones, they were some awesome ones like American Pie series or Hangover series or Harold and Kumar series. Where Tag differs from them is that this movie has boozing, drugs and even some sex comedy but the main plot of the movie does not revolve around any of those. It's main focus is on how boys will always be boys even when they become men, to be precise middle-aged men(there is a joke on that term too).

Do not think this is Jeremy Renner's movie. The movie revolves around him but the movie is more about remaining four and whenever Jeremy is on screen there are fireworks. You will fall in love with the gang and their zeal for the game. Jeremy looks like an evil villain in some parts because you have fallen for the other four guys and root for them. Add to that there is some unbelievable yet adorable action mixed with good humor.

When I first saw the trailer, I felt it was a good concept but was not sure how could they retain audience attention for 90 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised with the plot twists that will keep audience glued to the screens and at the end ask for more. There is an underlying warmth in the movie which is very well tapped in the climax. And the end credits depicting the real people behind this real story add more smile to your face.

On a whole, this is one of the finest bromance commercial movies to come out of Hollywood.
