Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Chalo - Review

There is a massive influx of comedians from various sides for Telugu cinema and it is a good thing because everyone is unique in their own way. But most of the film makers fail to cash-in on their talent. That's where Chalo succeeds largely. Satya shines the bright. Praveen, Sudarshan, "Viva" Harsha, and Mahesh Vitta got decent roles to showcase they can act too. Vennela Kishore is alright in yet another dispensable pelli koduku role.

And coming to the lead pair, the movie totally depends on their ability to light up the screens when they are on it. All the time either of them are on the screen you are lost in the beauty of them well supported by the writing behind each scene. Both Rashmika and Shaurya know how to look beautiful is each scene and each expression. That is a huge plus for the movie. Shaurya is hands down the most handsome actor in the current lot and he knows it. He uses it to his advantage well. And his acting has always been a delight. His peculiar way of modulation is his huge plus. Rashmika on the other hand is an actress who can act and look good too at the same time. She is here to stay.

The hero of the movie is Venky, the director. His comedy seems to be his main asset and he very well included comedy around his simple story.  Few scenes in second half look dragged and so pace dips a little. Though some comedy dialogues look a bit forced, most of the times they gel well with the movie. His Music director, Mahati Swara Sagar, son of Mani Sharma and Cinematographer Sai Sriram are major assets to the movie.

Overall a beautiful, hilarious laugh riot with few speed bumps in second half but so many more good reasons to watch this one.
