Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Interstellar

Christopher Nolan is the best film maker ever. Now lets start the review. There are movies that good makers can make and there are movies that good makers who are also fanboys can make. Interstellar is of second genre and Nolan seemed more like a fanboy of those space movies. His fascination, attention to detail and theories involved in the movie prove that. But not everyone can make a commercially viable movie of their fanboy zeal. Tarantino can, most of the times. May be Interstellar is a great movie for those elite people who can understand the complete laws of physics. But for an average movie watcher some of the scenes are way too complicated. They just talk newton, relativity, 5 dimensions, gravity travelling through time etc but still it gets tough to follow sometimes. What saves the movie are the top notch direction and nail biting screenplay. If there are any fans of 2001 Space odyssey out there, you will feel sorry for Interstellar for a mediocre soundtrack. I did. Movie definitely needed a better soundtrack and comparisons with Space Odyssey cannot be avoided. The father daughter relation and few scenes between them that bring the tears out are another plus. In short movie is very technical but also enjoyable even if 20% of the stuff goes over your head. It is definitely a visual feast more than Gravity. For once I felt Nolan had used the cinematic liberties to give the movie a proper closure.
