Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Race Gurram - Movie Review

Daavudaaaa!!!! Entertainment non-stop. That's what is Race Gurram in short. Surender Reddy is usually well known for his high voltage action sequences. With Kick and partially Oosaravelli he proved he can also deliver some good humor in his own style. With Race Gurram he proved both again. Allu Arjun is a revelation in this one. He is a major asset to the movie. Shruthi Haasan did pretty good in generating few laughs and also looked pretty glamorous rest of the time. Coming to songs, except "down down duppa" and "Gala gala" rest of the songs are wasted with two exceptionally good dancers like Bunny and Shruthi. We all know Bunny is best in dances but Shruthi did on par with him, especially, in down down duppa. Thaman should be mentioned for giving one of the best soundtracks in his career. Last and definitely definitely not least and the person who took this movie to next level is Brahmanandam. He comes towards the end for around 15 minutes with a super, mind blowing , outstanding and rofl to the power of infinity performance that include Mirchi Prabhas and Businessman Mahesh. Main highs of the movie are one of the best interval scenes, Bunny's character, Shruthi's character transformation and last 15 minutes of the movie. There are few minor hiccups like over acting villain and prakash raj, over-doing of "daavudaa" and bad choreography and placement of few songs but they are pretty harmless to the entertainment. Overall Race Gurram is a complete entertainer that is a dream for any big hero and Bunny is "Lucky" to get this one. And he lived up to the mass role unlike in Varudu. 

On a different note, I never liked Bunny that much but I can't take a trendsetting six packer go out of shape like this. Hope he comes back in shape soon.
