Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is

Oblivion - Review

Firstly I love the title and how it acts as a spoiler to the movie in a way. Moving on to the movie, the canvas or setup of the movie is too large or grandiose to be condensed into one single Hollywood movie. So the script they chose with this setting became very wafer thin. With an idea of trilogy, they could have easily explored so much good script points that would have made this a brilliant series. If movies like Twilight and Hunger games can be a series, this movie setup had a great series written all over it. But in the rushing to wrap up everything quick, the makers seemed to have left so many interesting things untapped. The production values, the gadgets, the action is all awesome but the movie has very little story, find and destroy Alien mothership, with a tiny yet awesome twist. Did I say this is a Tom Cruise movie already? No? I mean yes he is the lead but he did not have to be. But his face value sure added to it. Overall, an interesting Tom Cruise movie that could have been a lot of things more than it has become today.
