Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Bourne Legacy

First things first, Bourne Legacy is not a movie showing how some other agent on the run is carrying forward the legacy of Jason Bourne. It is his legacy as in how other projects are jeopardized because of what he had done to Treadstone. Secondly Aaron Cross is no Bourne with or without chems/pills. His IQ is faked by his recruiter and even with chems he is heavily relying on Dr.Shearing. To make it look even more silly, CIA seems to not have learned the lessons after how it all came down with Bourne. They are more inefficient this time to catch a lesser efficient agent on the run. To top it all, LARX is a big farce. Treadstone and Blackbriar assassins were top notch even though Bourne over powered them. An agent from the LARX, supposedly promising the best vitals ever, is always two milky ways behind a low IQed sick Outcome agent accompanied by a paranoia driven researcher. My suggestion to CIA is that it would be in the best interests of everyone and especially US economy to shutdown both Outcome and LARX and reopen Treadstone. Or I suggest Universal pictures to bring back Paul Greengrass. I feel so bad to see what Bourne had done to go in drain and vain like this. Acting wise Jeremy is good as always. It's refreshing to see Ed Norton after a gap and makes me wonder how much more interesting the proceedings have been if he had been in any of the first three installments. Lastly and most importantly Rachel Weisz. She looks as charming as she was in Chain Reaction and Mummy. Actors are all fine it's just the content that does not truly live up to the Legacy of Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass.
