Suicide Squad 2 - Movie Review

Streaming: HBOMAX Suicide Squad 1 was one of the finest DC movies(Minus Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy) to come out from their camp. Do not go by the reviews. It was so well received that Harley Quinn had her own movie. Now cut to Suicide Squad 2 with the famous James Gunn from Marvel camp at the helm, it barely meets the expectations.  Marvel made it seem so easy to write a super hero movie in super entertaining fashion with movies like Winter Soldier, Thor Ragnorak, Guardians of the Galaxy etc. But DC thought all they needed was the guy who directed Guardians to sell Suicide Squad. Oh my oh my how they were wrong. In one phrase, Suicide Squad is a gross mess that shines few times and far in between. Suicide Squad is no Guardians, not even close. The screenplay is messy. The visuals are gross but it aint Kill Bill. Kill Bill romanticizes with violence but Suicide Squad tries to romanticize with gross elements. To say the least, it doesn't work in favor of the movie. Idris Elba is...

My name is Khan - Review

A fan of SRK should never review MNIK, not because it is bad but because it is so good which might make the reader think the reviewer is biased. In short MNIK works big time. It should be credited to everyone involved in the movie which included Cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, writer Shibani Bathija, director Karan Johar and Khan himself.

US never looked so great in Indian cinema but Ravi K Chandran made sure his cinematography does not stand out and it gels well with the mood and premise of the movie. Main winner of the movie is Story and Screenplay. Movie with such a serious issue and an autistic protagonist can go wrong in many ways of which writer avoided every one of them. Director Karan Johar stepped out of his shell and yet comfortably directs such a subject with subtle (on his scale) emotions. Karan Johar always finds a new way to show off SRK’s talent and again this time he is successful even more.

Now coming to SRK, he answered his critics again just like Swades and Chak De and entertains his fans and audience just like all the Rajs, Rahuls and Surinder Sahni. All the movies that worked for SRK till date were due to his cute and likable portrayal of the role even when he is playing the roles like Surinder who is disliked by heroine. In MNIK, SRK plays an autistic(suffering from Asperger's syndrome) Muslim. He proves with this movie that he can play any role convincingly with same ease he can play any Raj and Rahul roles.

MNIK is a journey of an autistic yet traditional Muslim from India to US and to President of USA. Anything more than that would spoil the fun of watching the movie. This is a movie that should not be missed at any cost by any living person who have seen so many kinds of atrocities happening and happened in the world.
